BioScript Solutions Multi-Year Accessibility Plan
2023-2028

Our Commitment

BioScript Solutions is committed to providing a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive environment for all persons with disabilities in a way that is respectful of their dignity and independence. All divisions of BioScript Solutions (BioScript Pharmacy, Coverdale Clinics and Coverdale Resource Centre, NavieGo Patient Support Programs, A & D Wholesale, and BioScript Logistics) are committed to fulfilling our requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility.

BioScript Solutions has established an Accessibility Policy to outline our commitment to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner. We are committing to taking into account the person's disability, removing and preventing barriers to accessibility by embodying the principles of integration and equal opportunity, and meeting our accessibility requirements under Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

This multi-year accessibility plan outlines the steps we have taken and will continue to take to meet those requirements and to improve opportunities for people with disabilities.

The plan is reviewed and updated at least once every five years.

Accessibility initiatives

BioScript Solutions has completed the following accessibility initiatives as of December 31, 2023 and will continue to maintain or improve upon accessibility based on feedback and best practice.

Team Member Training on Accessibility

We train all Ontario-based Team Members on BioScript’s Accessibility Policy, Ontario’s accessibility laws, and aspects of the Ontario Human Rights Code that relate to persons with disabilities during onboarding. On an ongoing basis, we provide additional training as policies update and change.

We maintain records of this training, including the dates on which the training was provided, and the number of Team Members to whom it was provided.

Patient Care

BioScript Solutions is committed to excellence in serving all patients including people with disabilities, in compliance with the Customer Service Standard under the AODA.

Assistive Devices

People with disabilities may use their personal assistive devices when accessing our goods, services, or facilities.

Service Animals

BioScript welcomes people with disabilities and their service animals. Service animals are allowed on the parts of our premises that are open to the public.

Support Persons

A person with a disability who is accompanied by a support person may have that person accompany them on our premises.

Service Disruption

In the event of a planned or unexpected disruption to services or facilities for patients with disabilities, BioScript Solutions will notify patients promptly through their preferred method of communication. In addition, a notice will be clearly posted as per the applicable provincial website and will include:

  • Information about the reason for the disruption
  • Anticipated length of time
  • A description of alternative facilities or services, if available

Feedback

BioScript welcomes feedback on how we provide accessible patient care. Feedback will help us identify barriers and respond to concerns. Feedback can be provided directly to any BioScript Solutions Team Member or by using accessibility@bioscript.ca.

Information and Communications

BioScript Team Members will communicate with people with disabilities in ways that account for their disability. When asked, BioScript Solutions will provide information and communications materials in accessible formats or with communication support. This includes publicly available information about our services and facilities, as well as publicly available emergency information.

BioScript Solutions will consult with people with disabilities to determine their information and communication needs.

Hiring and Employment

BioScript Solutions will notify Team Members and potential hires that accommodations can be made during the recruitment and hiring process.

We will notify Team Members that support is available for people with disabilities, and we can develop individual accommodation plans for Team Members, as required. Where needed, we will also provide customized emergency information to help a Team Member with a disability during an emergency.

Our performance management, career development, and redeployment processes take into account the accessibility needs of all Team Members.
